Overloaded Wagons
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’” Matt 11:28 NLT
As I have visited several of our missionary ambassadors around the World, I have seen some interesting scenes – like small burros with large loads and carts so heavily loaded that the wheels were barely visible. Sunday, Amos uses this same image to describe the burden of sin compiled by the nations of Judah and Israel. “As a wagon is weighted down when filled with sheaves.” The sins of Judah and Israel were many and weighty – yet God was willing to forgive and restore. The hard hearts of stubborn people were the obstacle! Not much has changed in 2700 years. God still desires to forgive the sinners sins - He awaits our confession and repentance. Sunday we will talk of God’s grace, our sins and His forgiveness – all within the backdrop of the common word pictures of Amos, the sheepherder.
I love the quote of Spurgeon and I find it very encouraging – I hope you will too!
“God is more ready to forgive me than I am ready to offend.” C.H. Spurgeon
See you Sunday at Grace or Online – either way – don’t miss the overloaded wagons.
