Harmony with God

Israel, the Northern Kingdom, did not agree with God. They had abandoned His Law and disobeyed His Commandments. God had sent prophets and other nations to warn them but they persisted. So justice demanded judgment – it was coming! Amos tells them of that certain day and gives us a great example of God’s patience, mercy, holiness and justice. The goal of Amos is not to present a God who is taking out His anger on lowly souls but rather a loving God who gives direction and desires to meet with us – in harmony! Two things jump out at us this week – 1) God has been very clear about His expectations for the people He loves. 2). God has been very clear about the consequences of ignoring His expectations. Sunday is all about how we can agree with God – living in harmony! Lets agree to meet this Sunday – either service or I will meet you at your house (online) – see you then!
