God will provide!

One of the hardest stories to explain is also one the very best illustrated stories in all the Bible! How could Abraham begin the offering of his son on an altar? How could Isaac stand idly by while the stones are laid, the wood is gathered and the knife is sharpened? How could Abraham lift his hand toward the heart of his son?
The same way God the Father sent his Son – the same way God the Father watched evil men build a cross – the same way God the Father watched the soldier lift his hand with a hammer to drive in the nails of crucifixion. Mt. Moriah – Mt. Calvary are two mountains of sacrifice – the first of testing the second of fulfillment.
Sunday are three questions and three answers: God calls and Abraham says, “Here I am” then Isaac calls, “My father!” and Abraham answers, “Here I am” and finally God calls again and Abrahams says, “Here I am!” Each call and each answer is a step of faith and obedience – a model for us and challenge for our willingness to obey.

Sunday we climb Mt. Moriah with Abraham and from there we will view Mt. Calvary - Isaac offers and Jesus sacrificed! Don’t miss this great account of love and obedience!
