Benefits of Sin?

Back to Genesis!

How could family act so badly toward each other? All too common a question in some families!

“Men do not differ much about what things they call evils; they differ enormously about what evils they will call excusable.” G. K. Chesterton

Sunday we return to the accounts of Creation and the Promises God made to the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Genesis 36 is the list of provisions God gave to the family of Esau and Genesis 37 begins the story of Joseph whom we will follow for the rest of our series. Sunday is the record of jealousy, greed, envy and revenge – sounds a lot like today's newspaper stories! Sin has not really changed much over the centuries – it does not need to – it still captures the hearts of men and destroys the lives of those who engage. We will tell the story of sin defended by the jealous brothers of Joseph – we will show the Biblical methods God has given for the defeat of sin and finally we will show how sin is destroyed and the benefits of that in our life! Only God could derive a benefit from something that was intended to be our destroyer! This is the week for you to invite that family or person that you know is struggling with sin – God has the answer! We will see that and hear that and show that this week – don't miss this one!
