The Enemy of My Enemy - Mark 3:1-6
“God and love are synonymous. Love is not an attribute of God, it is God; whatever God is, love is.” Oswald Chambers
The Pharisees cannot help themselves – it seems that haters must hate! Questions about Jesus and the Sabbath continue this week – the Pharisees have not stopped watching. What is so very sad is that they were watching for violations instead of vindication! They wanted to rule Jesus as ‘false’ instead to seeing Him by faith. While attending the Synagogue Jesus sees a man with a shriveled hand – Luke even says his ‘right hand’. This impaired man was still loving God and attending the reading of God’s Word without resentment toward his Creator. The pattern of Jesus’ love was already well established and the Pharisees figured that He would do something compassionate again – He could not resist! Sunday we will look at what was the kind nature of Jesus and the base nature of the Pharisees and the broken desire of the damaged man.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Mike
