First Things First! - Mark 1:35-39

So much to do!

“I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”  Martin Luther

This Sunday we will get up early and follow Jesus slipping out the backdoor of Peter’s house to find a quiet place for prayer and time alone.  When the house wakes up everyone is searching for Jesus – He has so many fans already and so many needy people – so where did He go?  The example of Jesus is one for us to really focus on – seek out the pattern of being alone with God.  Sunday I will concentrate on how to set priorities – some of the many helps we have to spend time with God and some warnings about distractions in the world – like:  if you have your phone with you – you are not yet alone!  Yes – this week is personal!

There are many verses that are fundamental to our understanding of Mark and this week is one of those key verses like when Esther said ‘for such a time as this’ Jesus gives us a line just like that.  Jesus announces: “For that is what I came out here to do." Mark 1:38 NET

Many do not seem to have a sense of clear purpose in life – maybe you.  I will try to help you this week find a clear purpose from God’s Word about why we are here – See you Sunday!
