Marks of a Mature Believer

Jan 5, 2020    Josh Burt

This Sunday we will look at the first part of our phrase “Growing in Christ to Grow Others - Together.” We will focus on what it looks like to be mature believer, and grow in Christ. As a church we are to be examples of growth to each other and for each other. As we enter into a new year many things come up as we look to resolutions and new ways to fix what we think is out-of-place or broken, but we will look this Sunday not at new solutions but THE Solution. Maturity is consistency not complacency - and this comes not from solid roots not continuous transplanting. Psalms 1:3 "He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

Every person at Grace should be maturing, and that means that every person at Grace needs to be involved. This was a reminder that Paul gave in Ephesians 4:1-3 "I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” We are called to reproduce ourselves as believers, but also mature as believers - this process of growth never ends and is always satisfying.

See you this Sunday at Grace!
