“No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.” Ambrose of Milan
Talking to yourself? I have those days too – I just can’t trust the answers! Psalm 103 begins with David reminding himself to think spiritually instead of worldly. As King he might give himself more credit that was due – so he reminds his soul to compare his flesh to the grass of the field and the dust of the earth. His presence is like the wind – passing and passing by. Comparing his significance to the eternal working of a sovereign God. Sunday we will begin with the way David kept himself humble – with gratitude! David begins with a self reminder and then lists 5 things God has done for us that we should be thankful for in our days. This is a great way to begin setting our heart on Thanksgiving – see you Sunday!
