Memorial of Baptism

“Baptism separates the tire kickers from the car buyers.” Max Lucado

I am not sure it can be just that simply said but Lucado has a point – Baptism tells the story of faith on the outside to the watching world of the faith inside the heart and soul of the believer.

Baptism shows the identity with Jesus’ death – burial – raising which are the three pictures of baptism. Baptism is part of the Great Commission from Matt. 28:19,20 where Jesus told the disciples to go and make disciples.

Two assignments were given for all who wish to make disciples: baptize the believer and teach the believer.

At Grace we advocate both! Sunday I will take a look at the Message and Mode of baptism as taught in the New Testament as well as some of the Messy parts – where men have added or twisted God’s directions for this testimony of faith.

We will be back together Sunday in person at 9 and 10:30 if you are ready to join us – otherwise we will join you in your home via Grace Online – both services will be broadcast!
