Magi Seeking Christ - Matthew 2
“Once in our world, a stable had something in it that was bigger than our whole world.” C.S. Lewis
What does it mean when we sing the carol “We three Kings”? 2,000 years ago, a group of wise men traveled from the East to find a young child who had “been born King of the Jews” (Matthew 2:2). Guided by a star, these magi eventually found Jesus and worshipped Him. Who were they? Where did they come from? Had they read the writings of Daniel and others from Babylon? How many were there in the group? Did they bring real gold and frankincense and myrrh?
So many questions – I will do my best to answer a few – not all! There are some real and relevant lessons in this visit from the East for us today. Sunday in our Together For Christmas service – we will revisit this visit from the Magi and hopefully better understand their quest and their gifts. What are we looking for? What will we bring? What will we find? Come to this special single celebration at 10:30am – Together For Christmas!
See you Sunday,
Pastor Mike
