Mark My Words!

“We would be stunned into silence except we were created to praise!”

We begin Sunday to walk beside Jesus in the Gospel of Mark. Right away I want to make sure we know that this is NOT Mark’s Gospel but rather THE Gospel as told by Mark through Peter. There is only one Gospel as told in miraculous harmony by four Disciples. Sunday I will take us through the basics of who Mark was, how he met Jesus, why he recorded the stories and teachings of Jesus, and where he lived. No less than FIVE incredible events happened in Mark’s house – nobody in Israel had more miraculous contact than Mark unless it is Peter’s home in Capernaum or the Bethany home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. I will be encouraging us to be reading the Gospels every week in readiness for God’s Word. I will be sharing paragraph by paragraph the accounts given to Mark from the Apostle Peter just before his martyrdom in Rome.

I really hope you can invite folks to come and join us on this Gospel journey – truly a year of time in the Word, expository preaching, and devotional applications every Sunday. Feel free to read ahead – I will not skip a verse – I will dive deep every week and do my best to bring you the pearls of Mark – there are many!
