Have Faith! - Mark 5:21-43

“We long to see miracles - we just don’t want to need one ourselves!”

Jesus is healing two daughters of Israel in two very different ways.  This is a complex story with a very simple pair of outcomes – both girls find healing and hope in life through Jesus.  In fact, this is the account of Jesus on the way to a healing that is interrupted by an illness that delays the first healing to become a resurrection – what a story!  On this Mother’s Day we will follow Jesus as he cares for these two girls.  We will get off the boat with Jesus and listen as a Synagogue rules begs Him to come to the aid of his daughter on her deathbed.  Equally desperate is a woman with a bleeding disorder that has been outcast for 12 years and financially and emotionally bankrupted by her cures – none that worked!  The first is a frantic father the second is a humiliated daughter – yet we find the graciousness of Jesus equal to both.  I can promise you that this will be an encouraging and hopeful message for this Mother’s Day – come and see!
