King Jesus! - Mark 11:1-11
“Too many think lightly of sin and therefore think lightly of the Savior.” C.H. Spurgeon
Jesus is coming to Jerusalem – as King – but not yet! First, He is the Lamb of God to be offered for the sins of men. The crowds wanted a champion – the world needed a Savior. The Romans feared a rebellion – the world needed a Redeemer. On this day are many shadows and hints of what is to come – all in the gentleness of Jesus riding a donkey. The crowds over-expected the Messiah’s first coming and the world will underestimate the Messiah’s return! Coming in gentleness - He will return in greatness!
Sunday we will find hope in Jesus – we will find victory in Jesus – we will find trust in Jesus – all riding on a meek colt and quietly visiting the Temple that should have welcomed Him as Savior but instead rejecting Him as Messiah. So sad that even to this day people are looking for a Jesus of their own imagination rather than recognizing Him as the Redeemer and Savior that He is. Don’t miss Him and don’t miss this Sunday in Mark 11 – hope see you then,
