He does not forget! - Psalm 103:6-18
Vs. 14 – “He remembers that we are dust”
From Creation to Death we are reminded that we were made from dust and to dust we return - but even in between God does not forget our most humble beginnings - we are living bags of dirt! Yet to these ‘bags of dirt’ God has shown His love and mercy and grace. God’s love is so very grand! On this Thanksgiving week I am encouraging each of us to spend some quiet time to reflect on the Goodness and the Greatness of God. Sunday I will take us into the 103rd Psalm – a Psalm that praises this Goodness and Greatness of God. I have shared the first 5 verses before in previous Thanksgiving services and what a hymn. This week I will go further into this wonderful Psalm. There are at least seven distinct expressions of God’s great love – including my favorite Hebrew word: HESED. I will spend just a few minutes on each and draw us to some Thanksgiving conclusions – We are blessed – We are redeemed – We are to remember! Join us Sunday for a Thanksgiving Service – all the quotes are from Spurgeon’s commentary on the Psalms and from Psalm 103. My heart is already full – I hope you will come and fill yours too!
