Babylon Has Fallen #2 - Revelation 18
“God is against my sin because he is for me.”
Why is God so angry with Babylon? Why is it so hard to leave Babylon? If we could we might ask Lot’s wife about leaving Sodom & Gomorrah but we cannot. We might ask Jacob’s sons about leaving Egypt but we cannot. We might ask everyone who listened to Noah for 120 years but we cannot. Sunday we will visit Babylon for the last time – in all time! Babylon is cast into the sea and ceases to exist. God’s judgment of sin is complete and final – nothing left behind. Last week we heard from the political and religious powers but this week we hear from the commercial side – the wealth – the luxuries – the greed. All striving to hold on to the power of prosperity but failing! I found Revelation 18 to unfold almost like a trial with the verdict set before time. Yet in all this is a verse of great hope and invitation – I trust we are listening – God is good all the time!
Join us Sunday for the second half of 'Babylon Has Fallen' and be warned and know that you are invited by the Lamb to a better place!
