Sunday is still November but it is time to look from gratitude to celebration of grace! I find it fascinating that from birth to death the name of Jesus is presented in multiple languages as He is the Savior of all people. The interpretation of 'Emmanuel' to the placard placed over the Cross in three languages – Jesus is the Son of God, Savior of men – God with us! There is a favorite Christmas message of mine from Charles Spurgeon preached the day after Christmas in 1875 on the verse in Matthew introducing Jesus as Emmanuel. I will be in John's Gospel when the Apostle shares his version of God with us in the flesh. The quotes Sunday will all be from this favorite message and if you would like to read it for yourself I will give you the link. Lets end a season of Thanksgiving with a celebration of the Nativity – God with us!
