We are Regathering!

We are Regathering!  Under the conditions of Phase #1 for Columbia and Boone County we are allowed 25% of our auditorium capacity to gather back together – 2 Services – 9am and 10:30am.  We will have signs directing everyone to appropriate seating and the auditorium will be set up for compliance with social distancing guidelines.   Each of the services will be 1 hour long so we can empty the auditorium in time to receive the next service.  Rest Rooms will be sanitized between services as well.  Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available and many will be wearing masks so don’t feel like you won’t fit in!

If you have any hesitations, please continue to worship with us on our many Live Streaming portals.  The Services will be designed to address both the in home and at church congregations.  We are still one family – scattered now for weeks – regathering cautiously and soon together again!

Cautions to the Family

Preventions are still the best medicine!  The best way to prevent spreading the virus is to follow these CDC recommended hygiene practices:

• Please stay home when you are sick (7 days minimum is recommended).

• Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

• Cough or sneeze into your elbow or use a tissue to cover it, then throw the tissue in the trash.

• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Symptoms of Infection with COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) This virus can cause either mild illness like a cold or can make people very sick with pneumonia. The symptoms you should look for are:

- Fever

- Cough

- Shortness of breath

- Difficulty breathing

If you have any of the above symptoms, please don’t Regather yet!  Stay home and get better.  We are nearing the end of this crisis so don’t become impatient or act imprudently.

Giving Options

As we Regather, we will have Offering baskets placed by each exit.  In addition, the other methods are still available and will continue to be preferred for the next few months.

• App and Website: Click the “Give” option link at the bottom of the home screen on our Church App. You can also visit www.gracebiblecolumbia.org/giving on our website and follow the prompts to make a one time or recurring donation.

• Online Bill Pay - You can set up a one-time or recurring gift through the online bill pay portal of your bank. The bank generates and mails the check to Grace Bible Church.

• You can also mail us your check to the Church Office

Planning for the Future

We will continue to monitor the various Phases and react to them as is best for our Church Family.  We will keep you posted and we will give God the glory for His hand of protection and His many blessings.

Thanks for your faithfulness and patience!

Grace Mask Policy

Dear Grace,
The City of Columbia has passed an Ordinance regarding masking and social distancing.  While opinions vary and feelings are strong, we have no Biblical reason not to comply where required. Since Grace is set up for social distancing nearly everywhere except the Lobby and Rest Rooms those are the only areas a mask should be needed.  Please read the following policy with a gentle and humble spirit.

Philippians 2:3,4 -"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others."

CITY OF COLUMBIA #024284
“Except as otherwise provided in this ordinance all persons age ten years old and above who are present within the jurisdiction of the City of Columbia are required to wear a clean Face Mask any time they are, or will be, in contact with other people who are not household members. The requirement to wear a Face Mask shall go into effect on July 10 at 5:00 p.m.”

Section 6. “Exempted Activities. A person may remove their Face Mask where otherwise required under the following circumstances:
14. When in a business/commercial/office setting and not within six feet of any other person; provided however, when moving from place to place in a business location where the person cannot maintain at all times a distance of six feet from all other persons a Face Mask shall be worn.”

CDC Recommendations:
The CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
Cloth face coverings may help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others.
Cloth face coverings are most likely to reduce the spread of COVID-19 when they are widely used by people in public settings.

Grace Bible Church Policy

  • Romans 13.1 “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”
  • Grace will comply to the City ordinance where possible.
  • Masks will be needed through the Lobby until seated with your family.
  • Seating is still complaint with Social Distancing so the mask may be lowered during worship.
  • If you leave your seat for any reason or as you are preparing to exit the Auditorium the mask will once again be needed until you reach the Parking Lot.

Thank you for your willing hearts during this very difficult time!
Pastor Mike

(We do have a supply of disposable masks available if needed)
